I have a 30" guitar for A standard and sometimes, when I put heavier strings tunning like a bass. (Sound very very deep but without the body of a standard bass)

My guitars stay in E-flat I have others that are in D And C #- c sharp is awesome., lolreally grinds :)

Pushing top-end of bass guitar into guitar bottom-end works for me. Careful to ensure the bass guitar grind doesnt mask guitar punchiness and they blend well. Awesome advice as always 👍

Euge, i've watched almost all your video's and there is one thing I'm not sure if you ever mentioned or talked about... In regards to the JCM800's, was there a difference between the vertical vs. horizontal inputs? Or was it just an esthetic change over time?

The best advantage is you can justify buying just one more guitar. And a back up for each tuning.

How do you feel about extended range guitars?

7:35 I was literally thinking this as I read the title ! I totally agree with you Euge, different tunings just give a different vibe, you can play the same riff and you just feel different with your attitude towards it and it changes the way you approach the rest of the arrangement. I do have a digitech drop which does allow you to do similar, but it's not the same feel (that being said, it is very good and about 90% there), and can feel a little off, but you get used to it - and is a heck of a lot cheaper than getting loads of guitars! That being said, more guitars is ALWAYS better !

I would love to know your recommendations on what string gauge you use for different drop tunings! Thank you for all the knowledge you regularly share with us.

I mostly played in C standard but lately, just because of the compositions, now I use lot of drop A#. And with that comes a lot of problems with the thickness of the strings. I still don't think I found the right ones.

Euge - I picked up on something here: treble 4 (E), treble 5 (Eb), treble 6 (D) … as a starting point. I never thought of it that way - of course, what you said about settings makes total sense. My JCM800 is a bit brittle as I play in standard E for most of my 80s Hair Band tunes. Thanks for that bit of insight - I do use the wild twisty motion that you’ve demonstrated before, to hear the sonic movement of a knob when dialing in. As always, many thanks - Rock & Roll 🤘🤘

Great vid E! What's you're take on string gauges and choice of pickups, as you are using std. scale guitars (25ish inches) when tuning down lower than E flat? The regular scale and pickup (especially passive) combos are designed for std. tuning and still work ok when deviating a bit (say that Eb) from it, but going lower, you push their design boundaries.

Hi Euge! What set of string do you use for lower tuning?

great video! I love using different tunings. I only have 3 guitars but they are all tuned differently: Steve Morse musicman tuned to E standard (occasionally drop D), Gibson Explorer tuned to either Eb or D standard (and also drop Db or C) and then Les Paul Custom tuned to C standard (very occasionally drop Bb). all 3 of those guitars have Steve Morse dimarzio pickups but they each sound totally different. the tunings make it even more so.

Drop C# is the sweet spot for me 11-52 on my Jackson soloist for more old school groove, nu, thrashy metalcore vibe. Then drop C 10-52 for my Ibanez rgd 26.5 scale. For a slightly more modern sound for big ambient cleans and then hm2 death metal/hardcore tones

D A D F# A E is one of my favourite alternate tunings. Similar to dadgad, but has really nice shimmering high E. Third Eye Blind used it in a tune called Narcolepsy. That’s how I found out about it.

Yeah man I'm jammin with some guys in d standard on one guitar and c# standard on another. I also have a 7 string in A# standard. I hardly ever play in e standard anymore except on my acoustic.
